Soledad is an experimental film juxtaposing the autonomous and sovereign ideologies of the National Zapatista Liberation Army with the resilience of the Mexican people and forces of oppression as symbolized by cartel violence and its role in violent death (La Santa Muerte). Remnants of ceremonial and modern dance are a celebration Mesoamerican cultural inheritance.
