Smoking Mirror (2023)

Previously titled Dance of the Flower Prince (La Danza de Xochipilli), Smoking Mirror is a documentary about the queerness inherent in Mesoamerican indigeneity through visions of nahua-futurism.

We follow Xico Garza and his stewardship into creating and maintaining the Two-Spirit Ceremony in Springville, CA, which annually hosts queer and transgender people of varying cultures and throughout the indigenous Mexican diaspora.
