Tuff Luv and Elsewhere Imaginary Places is a mixed-media project created by Dr. Michelle Cartier, curated for the CSU Fresno Media Arts Festival by Dr. Cartier, Alicia Flores and Marvin Cardenas in June 2019. It is an experience of liminality and worlds in-between using various layering techniques to recreate a triptych form. This curated installation can be re-created in a wide range of stages, galleries and venues.

The initial pitch of this concept by Dr. Cartier was focusing on "studies of 'magic' and the 'impossible' as a means/ways to discover/build more actual possibilities (of ways of thinking/living/being-together). Another way to potentially think about it is: refining to one main focus and then aligning such focus with two ideas running side by side each other (each a work in the cropped frames screening alongside each other) within and bringing us closer/touching into the main thread of the focus."
